Exchange programme

Due to our internal organisation at the Faculty of Health Sciences we offer Erasmus+ exchange programme in Spring semester only.

Exchange students start their Erasmus+ mobility programme with a compulsory theoretical module and continue with a period of clinical placement.

The main aim is to offer all exchange students a common start and an opportunity for social, international and interprofessional networking from the beginning of the exchange period.

After the compulsory module, students continue with clinical placement based on their own professional interests.

COMPULSARY VACCINATION
Vaccination against Measles and Hepatitis B is compulsory for all incoming students.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

The University of Ljubljana offers instruction in Slovenian and English and requires that the student has very good language skills (very good knowledge in reading, writing and speaking of the language) in at least one of the two languages in order to be able to study here. If the language requirements are not met, the University of Ljubljana will not accept you.

ACCOMODATION

Student dormitories

Please note, that only a very limited number of beds in student dormitories is available. The rooms are double with shared bathroom and kitchen. The price varies from 150 - 190€ per month per person, depending on the size and location of the room.

Rooms are given to students on "first come, first get" basis according to the date and hour of the online application. The application is available here and can be done before you start with the exchange application. More about the dormitories you can find here.

Private accommodation

It is very difficult to find private accommodation in Ljubljana so you should start well in advance. The Student Organization of the University of Ljubljana will help you in your search for private accommodation after your arrival to Ljubljana. They will advise you and give you information on where and how to look for accommodation, but the search will be done by you. Before your departure you should book yourself a hostel at least for the first week. After the arrival you can visit the International Office of the Student Organization (Kampus, Pivovarniška 6, office hours: Tuesday 2pm-5pm, Wednesday 2pm - 5pm, Thursday 2pm - 5pm ), but firstly you should contact them by e-mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. HousingAnywhere

University of Ljubljana is a partner of HousingAnywhere.com, the international student-to-student housing platform. Students who are coming from abroad to Ljubljana can find & book a student room on www.HousingAnywhere.com. The rooms on this platform are offered by our students that go abroad for a study abroad semester, exchange, Erasmus or internship. Using the platform itself is completely free for you as a student; when you make a concrete booking, an administrative fee will be charged as a part of Housing Anywhere’s secure booking system.

Sign-up here to receive a University of Ljubljana VIP profile on HousingAnywhere.com. As a student you are entitled to priority access to all accommodation available on HousingAnywhere.com. The platform allows you to choose from rooms listed by local students or verified landlords and securely book prior to your arrival. Keep in mind: The housing market in Ljubljana is very seasonal. So if you don’t find a room listed right away check back regularly.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

Foreign students coming from the EU member countries and the countries of the European economic region should have the E 128 form, E 111 form or E-card. The document type depends on the authorized insurance agency of the country of their origin. Namely, the students should contact the authorized insurance agency, where they have been insured, and ask for one of the above-mentioned forms. Students should have appropriate insurance coverage (also for accidents and liability) when coming to Slovenia.

SLOVENE LEARNING ONLINE

Slovene learning online is a freely accessible online course of Slovene for foreigners, developed at the Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language in cooperation with the company DigiEd. The course is designed for those who wish to learn Slovene one their own in a simple, playful and effective way.

GRADING SYSTEM

A student passes the exam if he/she is graded from 6 to 10. Study requirements may also be evaluated with grades: passed with distinction, passed or failed.
